Important Information for U.S. Customers
U.S. customs regulations for imported goods changed in 2025 and continue to evolve.
Please note that shipments to the United States may be subject to import duties, taxes, customs processing fees, and clearance charges, including for lower-value shipments that were previously exempt under the former U.S. duty-free threshold.
When you place an order with us, you are generally considered the importer of the goods and are responsible for paying any applicable import charges required by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
The shipping fee paid at checkout covers packaging and delivery only. Any customs duties, taxes, or clearance charges are handled separately by the courier (DHL). DHL may contact you regarding payment before delivery.
Import charges are determined by U.S. customs authorities and can depend on:
- the value of the goods,
- the product classification,
- the country of origin (where the goods were manufactured),
- and current U.S. import regulations.
Historic Royal Palaces cannot predict or guarantee the exact customs charges payable. DHL provides a duty and tax estimate tool here: https://mygts.dhl.com
Orders shipped outside the UK are zero-rated for UK VAT, meaning UK VAT is not charged on your purchase.
