Part of our ‘Last Princesses of Punjab’ collection, this illustrated mounted print celebrates the 150th birthday of Sophia Duleep Singh, a fearless suffragette and Punjabi princess.

Featuring a stunning illustration by artist Kushiaania Janda, she says, "I wanted the artwork for The Last Princesses of Punjab to be bold and vibrant, shining a light on these incredible women and the legacies they have left behind.

Sophia Duleep Singh, daughter of the last Maharaja of the Sikh Empire, was born in England after her father’s exile. Queen Victoria, her godmother, granted her a Grace and Favour home at Hampton Court Palace. However, a visit to India for the 1903 Delhi Durbar celebrating Edward VII’s coronation revealed the injustices of empire. She became a committed suffragette and fearless campaigner for justice and equality, fighting for women’s right to vote.
