Ruby is one of the most valuable-coloured gemstones of all time. It is from the variety of corundum minerals which also includes sapphire. Despite its incredible deep red colour, it reflects light beautifully and is extremely durable making them evermore precious. Historically it was associated with personal protection and was worn as talisman as it was purported to bring peace.
