Corgis have trotted alongside the British royal family for nearly a century. The love affair with these adorable dogs began in 1933 when the future King George VI brought home a corgi named Dookie for his daughters, Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret.
It was Queen Elizabeth II who immortalised the breed in royal history. She received her first corgi, Susan, for her 18th birthday. Over the years, she cared for more than 30 corgis, beloved companions that accompanied the Queen from palace corridors to the Scottish Highlands.
